Dentistry

Thank you Dr. Chase, for being an excellent dentist. Now I can eat nuts and seeds again without fear, as well as chew gum. I'm so joyful and relieved, that I don't even mind looking like a stroke victim for 6+ hours.

Here's something more aesthetic to look at than my face, I found this lovely patch on the walk home.

'barb

I made a compote with rhubarb from the neighbor's garden. I used this recipe. Didn't think it was going to turn out at first because the rhubarb was old, dry, and holey, but it's delicious!

And such a pretty pink color.

Mt. Timpanogos

Perfect day for a late summer, early fall hike. The air was clear and cool, the sun was bright, and there was no wind or rain. Little sis and I got on the trail around 7:30 and hiked for 9 1/2 hours! It felt like the trek of Frodo; traversing the varied terrain of many lands to get to our final rocky summit.
Along the way we saw beautiful wild flowers, tons of berries (which we proudly ate, despite a fellow traveler's recounting of "Into the Wild" horror stories), a man who's been hiking this trail 5 days-a-week for 10 years, a goat photographer of 30 years, a disappearing glacier, a crew of beer-drinking hunters, and approximately 75 white mountain goats and their babes having a dust bath.
All-in-all, it was a fantastic day ending with yummy food at Pizzeria 712. If you haven't been there yet, go. It's worth the drive to Orem.
